Lol. Yes it did work. I added some water in the masala. Brought it to boil & then soaked paper towel. Did it thrice & the saalan was perfectly yummy.
Anyone has extra salt next time. Just soak some paper towel. Do keep in mind the paper towel also soaks up all the oil.
how many paper towels do you use and doesn't the paper towel break when you try to take it out again. like pieces of wet paper towel left in the salaan...........hopefully that doesn't happen

Manisha. I ended up using 6 papers towels. 2 sheets every time I dipped it in the saalan. I am talking about paper towel. Not tissue paper or toilet paper. Paper towels are a tad bit sturdy. Also I used a tong to take the soaked paper towels out. The paper towel gets really hot. You don't just let the towel cook in it. You just soak it for a minute or so. Hope that helped.
