Re: Too much on Meera
oh god, these same people here wouldnt have uttered this defence for meera, had the public figure been say george bush.....im sure that wouldnt have bothered you has much...and since you say you hav not watched her films or interviews, surely you shouldnt be bothered. i suggest you watch one of her interviews to be able to understand the jokes thread on her. trust me, without this, shes nothing.
and bringing quranic verses into silly things is condescending.....just like you shouldnt take qasam on every liitle thing, neither should you be using ayats or anything at all for minor incidents....its belittiling and silly.
Points?
What are you on about? But sure, I can do that. As long as you and your friends here promise to think twice before lecturing others on islam from now on ;–)
OK. I am scared since you threatened…literally shaking in hot weather. LOL
OK. You wrote a wrong verse on wrong scenario and it was challenged.
Sorry, you lost the case…really sorry.
Did I claim to be a lecturer on Islam? Is this the reason you are after me dude?
You need a psychiatric help very fast. You want me to call the doctor for you? Just give out your home phone number. ![]()

Re: Too much on Meera
Let me just clarify something since I am in media and journalism. Once a person becomes a public figure, to a certain extent the journalists and people can write and say whatever about the person. This is what being a public figure means, the person comes in to the spotlight. Meera is a celebrity and unfortunately or fortunately celebrities count as being public figures whether they influence the public in a bad way or a good way.
When someone becomes a public figure they loose their right to privacy in a way.
Next thing we know Arlietter you would be saying please do not talk about Zardari or Altaf Hussein and so on because people are making fun of them and bashing them. Zardari's acts and English is also made fun of and so is Zardari's son's Urdu.
It is very normal. She brings it on to herself with her behaviour and doings. She should be aware that since she is a celebrity whatever she does will be observed and people will pass comments and judgements as they please.
rite on the dot ![]()
good point
you are miss quoting the verse mate
i have my sympathy with the thread starter ![]()
PS. meera is entertaining ppl indirectly, bless her ![]()
you are miss quoting the verse mate
No I did not quote incorrectly. So you don't like that translation? Here is more:
English Yusuf Ali: [49:11] O ye who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others: It may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): Nor let some women laugh at others: It may be that the (latter are better than the (former): Nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames: Ill-seeming is a name connoting wickedness, (to be used of one) after he has believed: And those who do not desist are (indeed) doing wrong.
49: 11 ] O you who believe! let not ( one ) people laugh at ( another ) people perchance they may be better than they, nor let women ( laugh ) at ( other ) women, perchance they may be better than they; and do not find fault with your own people nor call one another by nicknames; evil is a bad name after faith, and whoever does not turn, these it is that are the unjust. [Shakir]
As for the rest of the drama here, I am under no illusion that any of this will change anyone's mind here. Like I said earlier, either you see it or you don't. So feel free to carry on.
