if one has suddenly developed dandruff, it could be due to a number of things such as stress or environment (extremes of hot or cold). it could also be caused by a fungus and that’s were medicated shampoos (such as nizoral) will help. sometimes it’s just as simple as getting into the sun. i’m sure many people can testify that dandruff gets much worse in the winter when they are inside all dry with dry heating as opposed to being out in the summer.
if one has been dealing with dandruff most of their life, you can’t expect any remedy to make it go away permanently. one can just try to keep it as minimised as possible. for example, if it’s due to psoriasis coal tar shampoo may help; T-Gel has coal tar as it’s main active ingredient.
it basically comes down to trial and error. you need to start off with one treatment, give it about a month, if it doesn’t work move on to the next.
please be aware that T-Gel and Nizoral treat dandruff differently (different causes), so if one doesn’t work try the other.
