Too many high school graduations.

Re: Too many high school graduations.

I mean, no one said you had to go.

Re: Too many high school graduations.

I for one enjoy high school graduation parties because for many it's the only graduation party you'll get.

In college you don't really get to know any of your friend's parents like you do when you are in school. Also by then, you are too old to have a graduation party. Just a dinner for most people.

For many High School graduation is about celebration with teachers, friends and even their families that have known you since you started KG.

^ yup.

Re: Too many high school graduations.

Tho the thread is not about the gift-giving issue, I think it is important to consider your mind set when you are determining how much to give to better understand the mindset of the families that throw these parties for their children.

It is natural to want to do something that will excite and please others. It is natural to compare yourself to others to determine what is "right" and "appropriate" for yourself. Does that make you a snob? Does that make you materialistic? Does that mean you are showing off?

I don't think so.
