We are witnessing waves of destruction around the world killing thousands of human being.
Whatever is the reason, hurricane, rain, flooding or earthquake, mudslide; all of these events have taken lives of men, women, and children of many nations.
We as human race must continue to find ways to minimise these damages by continuous technological advancements. Off course we may not be able to eliminate natural desasters but sure can find some preventive measures.
More importantly, all of us need to be joined in efforts to help victims regardless of their backgrounds.
Feel free to post your thoughts and links of genuine organizaions actively participating in these efforts so we all can contribute. Emotional support can also be helpful if at all possible.
In the end, my prayers for all the victims and their families.
You know, I may get a little direct when discussing global politics with the members here. But when I first heard about this earthquake it made me very sad. No one should have to go through what you guys are dealing with. This makes Katrina look like a party.
You guys may have some whacky world views, but as a people I see you pulling together and getting through this. I hope America provides as much help as possible.
^True. We cannot win against the nature. But the damage can be minimised as much as possible.
I think these areas should be marked and be advertised clearly and potential risk must be informed to people living in these areas.
Roads, dam, tunnels, building constructions and limit on the height of building can be planned as well. More sensitive devices are of great help also. Admittedly, earthquakes are very inpredictable.
