Too good to be true

Have you ever refused a service or are skeptical just because the price seems too good to be true?

Re: Too good to be true

Yup. I was looking for an eyeliner pencil on ebay which is usually quite expensive to buy in stores and I found an ebayer who was selling it in half the price. He was a “power seller” meaning quite reputable on ebay so I emailed him and asked why the price was so low and if the product was genuine. He replied “please look through our feedback”. That just wasn’t good enough for me. I would’ve placed an order had he responded back with a good reason as to how he could afford to sell that eyeliner in half its retail price. Was it because he was getting the product directly from the manufacturers or something? His response wasn’t satisfactory and so I didn’t place an order because I have read horror stories of fake makeup sellers on ebay who btw were also power sellers at one point.

Re: Too good to be true

yes.
I’ll pass on buying things if I can’t find a good reason for why the product is available at such a discounted rate when the market rate is much higher. I tend to wonder about authenticity…just like Huma mentioned.

Re: Too good to be true

Many times - I only buy from reputable online stores, nothing wholesale/discounty type of fishy vendors
I rather not buy anything at all than to get end up with something counterfeit!!
