but of course. you have to be able to pull it off, it has to be in the right amount.
Now realize I am not suggesting that men get a lavender suit or trousers. but a shirt with some lavender in it, and or tie with some lavender in it. same could be done with orange, red, pink, purple, you name it.
but hey, desis are more then welcome to keep on with their blue suit, white shirt red tie combo, or the black suit black shirt look.
You have to have some sense of style to be able to incorporate colour in your wardrobe
dash of colours folks, no need to look like one is sponsord by technicolour.
who said that only blue suits and white shirts or black suit things.
You need to learn style before talking lavender because usually desis or different taste of people are wearing those shirts.
there are grey coats and blue paints, light green suits with blue shirts and my dad always said
"they sell orange or purple in market because there are people who love to buy them"
awwwwww, its okay, you can back peddle.
so why did you ask if guys wear lavender? and claim its girly. its girly if you walk around in a lavender kurta shalwaar or a lavender tuxedo
of course guys wear lavender, dashes of colour work well, if you can pull it off.
I can show you some fantastic shirts and ties with orange and purple in them.
The example I showed is of a nice shirt and tie both with lavender in them, not that you have to pair them together.
Reading this thread I am again reminded that Desis are the biggest fashion conscious gurus after the French...
I keep forgetting, no one possesses a better fashion sense than a desi who accidentally passes by men's clothing in a Nordstrom on his way to the loo...tosh
I am a traditional dresser...I Like dark colours...
To tell you the truth, lavender, orange, mauve e.t.c. look good only on gays or Punjabi dancers...You have to be either one of them to pull it off without looking neurotic...
^
Chor na Lajjo, Lav is a fine color. As Pir Sahib mentioned above just a dash. If you want wear a complete lavender suit you would look like gay or punjabi dancers
Traditional dark would mean dark as in blacks, blues, grays, browns and in some cases off whites…No whites or ivories…
My favourite designer is Perry Ellis for shirts specifically his Portfolio collections…Why? Because his shirts have something which no other designer has…I’ll tell you only after you ask or being the fashion maverick you already know…
As for pants, I try to avoid buying anything from the States…No matter how advanced the west becomes, it just can’t contour the perfect inseam like a Pakistani tailor can…Not to mention the fantastic quality of cloth you can get from Dolmen’s or Saddar…
yeah yeah perry ellis, been there done that. decent shirts :) and yeah I am very familiar with the unique feature of perry ellis shirts. actually it makes you look a little more atheletic, even though its designed more for movement
See, for me not being a fashionista diva, it’s easy to stick to something that looks good on me until I discover something else…I forgot, Perry Ellis must seem so passe to you…Like previous century…
But for fashion trendsetters such as yourself, it must be so hard keeping up with the latest trends, checking out the latest designers, probably traveling to Milan or Paris to do the latest shopping or maybe have a famous designer design something that suits your personal style…Oh man, what a lifestyle…What a terrible burden it must be on you Fraudz to keep up with the trendiest styles…Really, it’s not easy finding cheap $1500 shoes in one’s size anymore…
Off white means away from white…It can be anything…Bluish, greyish, blackish, reddish…You can go as ‘off’ from white as you need depending upon how dark you want it…
I believe you have the desi concept of off white which is sort of creamy rather yellowish color…Am I right? That is why you seem a little confused…
That depends on an individual’s own aesthetic sense Fraudz…What’s dark to you may well be too light to me…Don’t ask me to define exactly what I find dark in offwhite…It’s like asking me to describe what I find beautiful and ugly…Which very well may contradict with what you think…
P.S. Since you added a little bit later on, think beige…Answer this: How dark or light does brown have to be to be considered beige, brown or off white?
Do you have a universally recognized set of standard for colours that I can use?
Stop asking stupid questions Fraudz…It makes you look silly…
