Talking about the way Members of Parliament sit in the Parliament in England. Every now and then they would show Tony Blair making a speech with MPs packed like a can of sardines in the background. What’s up? are you Brits short of furniture? Don’t give me ‘it’s the tradition’ bullcrap. I think it’s a fire safety hazard to pack so many idiots in such a small space.
Re: Too close for comfort
fungee they are brits let them be. what do u expect ?. Their diets consists of seafood and freedom fries with lemon tea in the rain. losers.
Re: Too close for comfort
and another thing that bothers me is that they would interject 'yay, yay, nay nay, yays' while a speaker is talking. And then followed by stomping of feet. There aren't any desks, so it has to be the feet.
Re: Too close for comfort
they so hoonee!
Re: Too close for comfort
In US Sentate, the speeches are delivered to the camera, there is no one present.
Re: Too close for comfort
Why the urge to compare everything to US? Schmucks!
Re: Too close for comfort
cause USA is the beacon of freedom and home to lady liberty. :american_jhanda:
Re: Too close for comfort
Why do idiots gripe about everything foreign?
Re: Too close for comfort
coz alieans still attract ppl
Re: Too close for comfort
I guess it must seem strange to you 'mericans especially as you are all used to your government headed by a monkey.
Tis terrible I agree!
Funguy, you mustnt mock us Brits..... for the punishment will be severe!
Re: Too close for comfort
what are u gonna do?. get tony to recite king lear?
Re: Too close for comfort
hey, don't take it personal (like most other Brits). I am only trying to learn. If you were an American, you would have used my curiosity as an opportunity to educate...but
Re: Too close for comfort
Funny you should say that. Teflon Tony could recite King Lear and even Odyssey. It’d trually a miracle if Bush could formulate two proper English sentences.
Re: Too close for comfort
Who gives a crap about proper English.
USA USA USA
GO USA
God bless the land of the brave and free!
Re: Too close for comfort
Hahahahahahahahha
Bush was also a cheer leader in his college years.
Re: Too close for comfort
Gamma, that beacon has been missing for sometime now. Thanks to murder of innocnet civilians, america has lost credibility in world.
Re: Too close for comfort
Kaleem dont mind Gamma, he is dutch.
So far as Funguy not understanding english is concerned. I doubt that comes as a surprise to any literate.
Re: Too close for comfort
funguy, English are used to congestion; it is their only sustainable way to tax revenues. The Lords are usually scared that their island might sink one day, so they have someone next to hold on to.
Re: Too close for comfort
AJ jee, That makes perfect sense. You must be a fellow-American. :USA:
Re: Too close for comfort
i dunno what the parliaments in US is like, but i find the british one quite comical. In a nice way mind. esp. during PM question time, when the PM and the opposition come face to face trying to diss each other an the back benchers roar in appreciation or disagreement. And then they turn to face the public in an all formal and aloof manner. I suspect they dunn know about the cameras. :-D
as for the seating, its prolly centuries old. when the pro- hunting protesters (i think) barged in, the MP's dinn know where to go, they stood up in shock, only to sit right back down again, whilst security chased the kids around parliament. lol.
