Too big to jail

In the aftermath of the 2007 financial bubble, lots of improprieties were unearthed. The big banks collectively have been fined a total north of 250 billion dollars (from memory). Yet, no one has gone to jail.

On Dec 22 2014 Alstom was fined 772 million dollars is a bribery case. The firm has admitted to more than $75 million in bribes to secure more than 4 billion in projects.

Now this clears the way for GE to go ahead with its 17 billion dollar acquisition of Alstom.

All is well.

Re: Too big to jail

Mr. President, Sir, you need to take some responsibility. You were bought and paid for by the Wall Street big boys.

To answer Arleitter question, wall street is the holy cow. Can’t be touched. At least that is my understanding

Re: Too big to jail

Yep you are right! Presidency is as corrupt in USA as it is in the Third World! and they have the blessing of the Supreme Court!

Re: Too big to jail

too biter to swallow

Re: Too big to jail

Not really, president of the US makes sure his people are mostly safe, fed and watered before filling his own pockets whereas third world leaders fill their own pockets first without giving a **** about the people they are meant to serve.

Re: Too big to jail

Also the reason they were fined in the UK anyway is that they broke regulatory body rules, they were not prosecuted in criminal courts because they hadn’t broken any laws.
