West Indian cricket commentator and cricket correspondent Tony Cozier passed away. He made his mark (from my perspective) as an excellent commentator. When the Windies toured India in 1975, I vividly recall how he pronounced India captain Pataudi - Pattodi.
In the last 41 years, haven’t kept abreast of Mr. Cozier’s articles. Have seen them appear off and on. But there was no need for it. Mr. Cozier will have a place place in my heart for his professinalism and general geniality as a commentator.
Rest in peace, Mr. Cozier. And thank you for the unforgettable memories.
Yes, we only know him as a commentator but i'm sure he must be a good cricketer. He had such a pleasant tone and the comments were always brilliant. He was actually somewhat like Chishti Mujahid.
Consummate reporter and commentator who told it like it is and impressed everyone with his clear and forthright analysis of West Indies and international cricket for more than 5 decades
He was recognised by cricket followers around the world more by his voice than his appearance. A white man who spoke with a Barbados accent.
