Tonight messed up

Tonight I found out that one of my old school friends is going to serve 19 years in prison. I ended up drinking alcohol and taking cocaine after a 5 year hiatus. When a woman kissed me, thats when I “woke up”. I took a black cab to my safe place to sober up. Why after 5 years did I make these choices? Maybe I’m venting. I don’t know, All I know is, I don’t want to ever make these choices again.

Re: Tonight messed up

get a grip please, you're not a child. alcohol and coke because your friend got banged up? and how do you think you'll react if something even more tragic were to happen?

Re: Tonight messed up

That's why it's better not to get hooked to these things in first place and avoid company where these are freely available otherwise you always have a risk of relapse.

Re: Tonight messed up

I've seen people who maintained the strongest resolve for years commit acts that they never fathomed they'd partake in...things that, for years, they openly condemned only to find themselves on the "other side" of the fence one day. Reminds me of a lecture where the speaker gave the example of Hazrat Yusuf (AS) and how he sought Allah's refuge for the temptation he was faced with and the point made was that even the best of us in character and deen and perfect track record experience weakness.

You do have to ask yourself that if this is how you reacted this time, then what would you do for more serious tragedies such the loss of a parent, for instance? The good thing is that it produced feelings of guilt and shame. And as unpleasant as that feeling is, it means your conscience works and that Allah has brought you back. There are people who feel no qualms or pangs of remorse about their mistakes; it's like they're dead inside and that's disturbing. You realize you were wrong, so repent to Allah. Make dua to Him for a stronger resolve. Follow up wrong actions with good ones. I think that in such situations, it's not advice thar we're looking for cuz we're not confused about whether the action was right or wrong. What we're usually looking for is maybe to ease our guilt thru the venting and to be given hope. And there's always hope; you repent, pray, move forward. You can't undo the mistake, so what other solution is there? It's better than the alternative path which would entail an attitude of doom and gloom where you tell yourself that you might as well dive back into those sins since you failed to be "perfect." Repent and move on OP.

Re: Tonight messed up

Could have been worse. Atleast it was a woman that kissed you.

Re: Tonight messed up

A kiss - whatever. Good for you, mate. But cocaine? Comon, you're better than that. You don't need that stuff to be cool or good or happy. We see you here being great! And there is no cocaine involved in making badabing cool for us. I don't see why you need to resort to it when stressed out.

Also, you might want to look into getting some cleaner friends.

Re: Tonight messed up

Also, if you become a cocaine addict, who will be there for me in my blogs?? Can’t talk sense to PCG if you’re coked up. :k:

Aapki badness itni HOT hai na.. hai. :khatti:

Re: Tonight messed up

You're messed. How old are you?

Re: Tonight messed up

And the True Detective Season 2 is finished and it really sucked.

Re: Tonight messed up

So how much of that cocaine is still left ?

Re: Tonight messed up

The guy who always claims to be cold as ice was so affected by the conviction of his friend that he ended up drinking? Hard to fathom. Did you ever really change badabing? Because I remember you mentioning time and again that you find your sharif friends boring.

Anyhow, like Tempe5t said, at least you feel guilty, that means your conscience is still alive. So repent sincerely and move on.

Re: Tonight messed up

I don't know.... Does sound kinda cheap... But I tend to eat "sand and chalks" under stress.....
