with NZ should be postponed or abandoned. how can we play cricket at such a time when 100’s of families will be burying their loved ones. I dont intend to open or participate in the match thread if the match goes ahead.
Re: Tomorrow's match
Agreed. Or if ICC doesnt agree can Pak still not play and let NZ hv the win?

If a whole test match can be abandoned due to the death of one person (quite rightly) this is a much much bigger tragedy. If ICC or NZ dont agree to postpone it than give them the win.
Re: Tomorrow's match
I was thinking abt it.....how can our team play a match. it shd be abandoned.

Pakistan team offers condolences
*=left]Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi and team manager Moin Khan offered their condolences to families affected by the terror attack in Peshawar that resulted in the deaths of more than 100 children.
*=left]"It's sad what's happened in Peshawar," Afridi said in a statement through the PCB. "Our prayers are with the families who have lost their kids. I hope the situation will get better in Pakistan and we live in a secure atmosphere."
*=left]Moin Khan said: "It is shocking. We are deeply disturbed by the series of events in Peshawar and at the loss of innocent kids' lives. May Almighty give patience to the parents of these kids who lost their lives, we share their grief and loss."
Re: Tomorrow’s match
Encouraging response from NZ but they’ve thrown it in Pakistani court:

Statement from NZC CEO David White: "Everyone at NZC is shocked by tragic events in Peshawar, our hearts go out to those affected…
Re: Tomorrow's match
Total silence form PCB which is pathetic and the statement from the captain and the manager should have been more forceful that they will not play tomorrow as a mark of respect to the victims. One minute silence and black armbands is hardly appropriate keeping in mind what has happened. I sincerely hope sanity prevails and they decide to postpone the match tomorrow.
Re: Tomorrow's match
Phil Hughes died and the match was postponed and many children were killed and just a armband
No the match should be postponed for one or few days
Re: Tomorrow's match
It may be good to show the terrorists they don't run our lives. It is their objective to disrupt.
One way to honor the victims is to carry on. In their memory. IMHO.
Re: Tomorrow's match
If the match is dedicated to the victims of the carnage,it will be a full blown slap on the face of terrorism, for all sorts of terror. I would say ,whoever wins the match today and dedicates it to the victims,it will a show of unity and solidarity for the victims and their families.
Re: Tomorrow's match
PCB has tweeted that the match will go ahead. Money matters more to them than the loss of innocent lives. PCB pathetic and shallow as usual.
Re: Tomorrow's match
PCB and even BCCI should have abandon the match, there is no unity or solidarity, winning or losing when hundreds of kids are being buried, this will show the world that we value a stupid cricket match more than 100+ kids life.
Re: Tomorrow's match
I have sent a note of strong protest to PCB.
Re: Tomorrow's match
I think, we cricket lovers should boycott all the matches today and voice our disdain on social media. For a starter, let's lock all the match threads for today and show some respect for the lives lost.
Re: Tomorrow's match
not going to watch match and because of the insensitivity of the PCB, shall boycott rest of the series as well...

Fourth ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand will be held as scheduled. Full text of PCB press release:
While expressing its deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the dastardly terrorist attack on an Army school in Peshawar yesterday, the PCB announces that the proceeds of the 4th ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand will be donated to the families of the martyred children and towards rebuilding the school.
To demonstrate solidarity in view of the enormous tragedy that has befallen the nation, the PCB has decided to postpone today’s Malala Cup final match scheduled at Muridke. The PCB has also postponed the 4th One day match between Pakistan A and Kenya team scheduled for 18th December. The Fourth One Day will now be played on 19th December.
"We tried our best to postpone the 4th ODI but were constrained by the Broadcasters commitment as well as for cricketing reasons advised by New Zealand management", explained the PCB Spokesman.
"We are playing outside Pakistan only because of the threat of terrorism at home. If we allow terrorists to disrupt our matches abroad, then all will be lost. So we have decided to go ahead with the match and our players will wear black armbands in grief and observe a minute's silence and flags will be lowered.
"The PCB will donate proceeds of the match to the families of the martyred and towards rebuilding the school."
Re: Tomorrow's match
I don't know about this. Disrupting our lives is what the terrorists want. I feel we are giving in if we put our lives on hold in response to such barbarity.
Re: Tomorrow's match
The proceeds from the match are being used for the families and for rebuilding the school. What better way to honor the kids?
Also, most of us go about our daily routine. It is not clear the players should be handled a greater responsibility. Felt the same wrt Phil Hughes.
Re: Tomorrow’s match
I feel the match should be postponed. It is not being cancelled. Cricket is not more important than the lives of the children or the impact it is having on the Pakistani cricketers.
Even they don’t want to play but i feel they are being pressurised by the board.

They can still donate the money and proceeds of the game when the game goes ahead. They can also donate their match fees. Or make a commitment to play cricket with children in Peshawar. Post poning for a day or 2 till they feel emotionally ready is not a big deal.
Most of us go along but not all of us have gruelling jobs where we are outdoors and in the sun all day and meant to be physically alert and active. Most of us also surf the net while at work but they can't. Some may even know people affected.
