Tombs (Mazar)

:salam2:

How many Mazars are in Indo-Pak of “Wali-Allah”, “Sufia-e-Karam”? I knw only few in Pakistan are:

1- Tomb of Data Ganj Bakhsh
2- Tomb of Data Ajmeer Sharif
3- Tomb of Sultan Bahoo.

Re: Tombs (Mazar)

I would say countless. Some people say that in some cases there is no information available for sahib e mazar. The famous tombs not included in your list are:

(1) Qalandar Laal Shahbaz (Sehwan Sharif)
(2) Shah Abdul Lateef Bhitai (Bhit Shah)
(3) Sachal Sarmast (Darazan - Khairpur)
(4) Abdullah Shah Ghazi (Karachi)
(5) Baha u Din Zakaria, Shams u Aalam and many other saints in Multan - Multan is famous for Mazars

Re: Tombs (Mazar)

Have you or anybody else visited the above tombs?

Re: Tombs (Mazar)

Yes except for Sachal Sarmast, I've visited all tombs and also been to Data Darbar twice.

Re: Tombs (Mazar)

How was your experience?

Re: Tombs (Mazar)

Nice, it all depends on your intent. I observed people very relaxed at these dargahs / tombs. These Sufia e kiram played important role in history of Islam and are still providing comfort to people who revere them.

Re: Tombs (Mazar)

I agree. somebody else also said similar to you.

Re: Tombs (Mazar)

Re: Tombs (Mazar)

I am told that there are tombs in Pakistan where people go with their "ailing" loved ones. Typically these loved ones are said to be suffering from "possession" or some other such condition that has been declared incurable by doctors.

Does anybody know of such places?

Re: Tombs (Mazar)

There are hundreds of mazars in multan also known as sufiya karam kee dharti.

Re: Tombs (Mazar)

I myself observed that after Maghrib prayers people bring such patients (who are considered to be possessed) at Qalandar Shahbaz's tomb. This is the time, when they arrange for dhamal and such patients seem to get relief from the sound of Dhol.

Re: Tombs (Mazar)

you have to do a thread on shahbaz qalandar, and your experiences of visiting sehwan sharif, muqawwee.. also not on topic, but have you ever had the chance to visit mohenjo daro/harappa/mehrgarh etc? south pakistan is extremely underrated in its archaeological potential, i feel, and would love to visit some of these place some day.
