Tomato soup

How do you make it?

Anyone have a tried and tested recipe?

Thanks

Re: Tomato soup

The simplest tomato soup - fry a crushed clove of garlic in tablespoon olive oil. Add a can of tomatoes, pinch of chilli flakes, pinch of mixed herbs, bit of salt n pepper. Cook until u can see a bit of the oil come through again. Blitz in a blender with about 2 cups of water. Bring back to the boil in the pan. Add a dash of worcestershire sauce if u like. DONE. Should b tasty.

U can also use a chopped stick or celery, carrots and onion in the base, before u put the garlic in. This would make a richer thicker soup.

U can also add stock cube / veg stock powder instead of plain water.

U can add anything to it, like peppers or green chilli, paprika etc.

Re: Tomato soup

You can use tomato paste to make it. following any recipe you want.

I don’t have a tried and tested recipe but I have two recipes I definately plan on trying once I get free time. Here are the links:

Cream of Tomato Soup

Tomato Soup Recipe

Both recipes look promising. Tomatos can be acidic so I recommend you add sugar if you feel you need to cut back on the acidity :)…

Re: Tomato soup

A touch of roasted and crushed cumin and butter gives it amazing flavor.

Re: Tomato soup

ya use the paste or concentrate. or you will have to boil down a big pan of tomatos and then seive them to remove the pips and skins and their water content. It would taste good tho i imagine.
