Every time I try to cook out the water in pureed tomatoes, it makes a huge mess in my kitchen. The pot will splash a huge amount of the tomato mixture everywhere, and if I turn the heat down, it won’t dry out because it is not boiling. When I turn it up to a boil, it splashes violently again. And it’s not like a bubbling pot. It’s like one big bubble & one big splash at a time, does that make any sense?
For example, when I make tomato soup or if I make any dry masala, I will throw raw tomatoes into the pot and then use my immersion blender to puree them. The mixture of onions and tomatoes will be a thick paste consistency. Then I will turn the heat up and try to cook out the water, and it splashes everywhere- the floor, the kitchen wall. I’m sick of it. What am I doing wrong? How can I quickly cook out the tomatoes without having to wipe down the entire kitchen again?
Oh, I can’t bring myself even near the pot. I burned myself all over from the splatters. I literally had to toss in the green chilis from far away as if I were playing basketball.
