Mirch bhai - prices remain high (or constant) all year around. It just few months of summer that they are cheap. lots of tomatoes go bad due to heat and unavailability of storage. I wonder why these ketchup companies dont buy them and make thier tin packing 
A consumer advisory was issued I think… and some restaurants have stopped using them voluntarily… wasn’t able to get my tomato bagel sandwich yesterday from Tims.

Florida, Georgia, Missouri, New York, Tennessee and Vermont have been added to the list of affected states.
Also, cooking does kill salmonella but FDA is afraid some people may not cook to temperatures needed to destroy it completely.
So people be careful!
