Has anyone tried them? Which ones are good and which ones are not?
I tested both Tom Ford Cafe Rose and Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud at Nordstroms last weekend and they both smelled great. I had never heard of them before.
They are rather pricey though(Tom Ford was $220 for 50mL and Jo Malone was $170 for 50mL).
Any other good perfume/cologne recommendations? I already have a vast collection, but have recently been intrigued by these “Arab” scents I have been smelling due to the influx of khalijis in my region.
OMG… Im in love with Jo Malone fragrances:wub: I tested so many of them, but fell in love with Red Roses Cologne, its absolutely divine, smells just like real authentic fresh cut roses. I agree they are quite expensive, i bought 100ml bottle for 80- 90 pounds but it was absolutely worth it.
If you’re looking for Arab scents then try Guerlain’s Idylle and Songe d’un bois d’ete. I have it and it feels like you’ve just walked into a spice shop (if you’ve been to a spice shop/market in an arab country, it smells just like it). Its quite strong but if you love the arab/spice kind of fragrance, you’ll love it. Sorry don’t know the price, my sister gifted it to me.
Jo Malone's Red Roses is amazing. I mostly wear floral perfumes so that one is a top favorite. I also Aerin Lauder's Evening Rose and Elie Saab's Le Parfum (my go-to perfume for the past few months). Tom Ford usually does unisex fragrances and I find them way too strong and not very feminine.
Being of middle eastern descent most arab scents are not of spice !!etc. Rose, oud,jasmine,lemon and musk, sandlewood are the most common elements in there fragrences most of the perfume that i think you are smelling is probably ittar which is perfume oil its more potent and often smells devine. Another thing i noticed arabs doing is perfume laying to get the best out of fragrences that are not quite there.
My husband wears TF; I cannot stand the scent; It’s like aggarbatiyaan walking around…Uff!! And there is quiet a steep price for these colognes for smelling like an agarbatty…
lol, agreed. most of the TF are very strong, however the one I tested was very floral/rosy with a hint of oudish scents. i already have a vast collection of perfumes (over 20 right now!)...so i'm not exactly going to shell out big bucks on another one at the moment but would like to make a wish list of the ones I like with anniversaries, etc coming up ;).
