Tolerance

here we have it from Quran Sharif and Hadith - what more of an injunction does one require in being open to a change towards religious teachings out of one’s own true accord.
no one can force anyone to be come religious.
& yet in the name of religion so much intolerance has lead people to become animals and fight over self righteousness, merely to be politically monopolistic.

any corrective ideas why this obvious insolence is practiced and how can it be minimized?

Re: Tolerance

It is not just with Islam. It is with other religions as well.

I THINK THAT MORE PEOPLE HAVE DIED OR HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THE NAME OF RELIGION THAN THOSE WHO ACTUALLY FOLLOW IT FULLY

Re: Tolerance

Since religions has become egoistic element, so the killing and humilation in the name of religion is obivous.

No religion teaches violance, none says to kill unless and untill it is required ( talking about divine religions)

But it is religious head who implement and promotes the war amoung the followers and somtime agains the nation of certain religions.

So if we are talking about religious tolerance and harmony first we need to discuss the methods to control Egos, which will eventually enable us to respect and accet the opinion which is different from ours.

Re: Tolerance

hanibal, you are right.

tolerance does need genuine regard. it just cannot be pretended or else it is not tolerance in the real sense of the word - it is pretence of dissonant thought and behaviors - one holds one view privately, yet with inner resentment, appears to be tolerant.

in religious differences and in political views, this type of fallacious provocation becomes quite undesirable. and people will benefit if their percepts about their own flaws were faced by them so that they could improve their interactions with others and also improve their own selves.
thanks for sharing your perspective on this.
