they were being taught urdu in their school. They were students of class nine and had studied most of their subjects in urdu.
Its really nothing to be proud if you don’t know your language. knowing your own language makes it easier to know other languages. I heard pure / theth Sindhi from my parents and grandparents ( some of our famly members including my Ammi don’t speak anyother language). This helped me a lot to understand local languages like Saraiki, Punjabi, Hindko. This was possible as my family background provided me this opportunity. same happened with Urdu, if you know good Urdu, knowing Arabic and Persian is not a big game.
