Toffee TV

It’s a literary activity for kids which parents and children adore alike exclusively for Karachiites.

Main purpose of this activity is to promote urdu where kids are encouraged to participate in urdu plays, it is a good initiative to make kids learn and understand urdu through fun activities .

They arrange sessions every Sunday at different places like NAPA ,Mohatta palace etc…celebrities are invited to narrate stories and sing songs in urdu.Sania saeed is a regular story teller, apart from her few others that contributed were Marina khan, Arshad Mehmood and Bushra Ansari.

Since in current situation karachiites have limited places for entertainment so, this is one good spot for parents to hang out on Sundays with their kids.

Re: Toffee TV

And this something needs to be preserved

Re: Toffee TV

I think this is also helpful for those parents whose urdu is weak. children will like the way they have told stories.

Re: Toffee TV

Yes definitely it will help, that’s why they are doing it through fun activities

i am watching the videos right now and one story teller was narrating a story and was using english words in between like jealous and a kid corrected him with the translation Heraan :hehe:

ToffeeTV Kahaani Time at Mohatta Palace with Umair Naeem

Atleast they are trying to learn and participate, it doesn’t matter if they are doing mistakes

Re: Toffee TV

lols, during my visit to TCF school, I found that children know good urdu (though the children of the area we went were from bengali and Afghani communities, so Urdu was not their first language). One of our team members wrote chambeli as : che meem be ye laam ye, and they immediately pointed out the mistake. The guy proudly accepted that his urdu is weak :bummer: I think, we should own our own languages and avoid conveying message to next generation that if they don’t know their own language, it will not make any difference and its rather cool.

Re: Toffee TV

Wow, from where did they learn urdu? and didn't you tell your colleague that there was nothing to be proud of admitting that his urdu is weak? Didn't he feel embarrass in front of those kids?

Re: Toffee TV

Even though I dont know urdu well , my kids will definitely learn proper urdu :D

Re: Toffee TV

yeah,I kinda feel embarassed that I dont know proper urdu :(
But if its weak, nothing wrong in admitting it.But its nothing to be proud of either.
