Re: tobah...computers!! need help again

Didddoo.. only get to see you now when you have a problem :-/

Khair, you can ignore all such warnings/messages

It just tells you that one of the running applications/programmes crashed and it then recovered your system from hangning.

If it happens a lot then you could try investigate what causes it and then disable that process. If not, then just ignore it.

Re: tobah...computers!! need help again

run a spyware check when yu run your pc in safe mode

Re: tobah...computers!! need help again

Seven One Four, click on start and then RUN nd type CMD and enter
It will bring a small DOS window on your desktop.
Type the the following at the command prompt
CHKDSK /F /R (e.g. C:\CHKDSK /F /R)
it will ask you whether you like to perform scanning after reboot say YES
After reboot it will scan the whole hard drive in 5 different stages so BE PATIENT cause it may take 10-30 minutes depening on machine type and the size of hard drive. Let it run by itself...

Let me know if you still experience any further issues after this, which I hope not :)

Re: tobah...computers!! need help again

do you get a BSOD and the PC restarts or you simply get it when you boot the PC?

Re: tobah...computers!! need help again

thanks all for your suggestions, ill try them when i get home

actually, it's the wierdest situation

we have dsl at home, but dial-up at our business...lately the wireless is off and not working, so i've been connecting via the dial-up number...we have two phone lines...when i try to connect via the first line, the computer turns off and restarts midconnection...then i get the aforementioned message...happens every time i do that

if i try to connect on the second line, it doesnt happen-but someone else i usually using the second line

regardless...it shouldn't happen at all...and it's so freakin wierd

thanks a lot, guys :)

ps gizzy, go to the journal :p
