No, I just think the views that a moderator should withhold from posting are more narrow than what Kaleem suggests and I have basically outlined those few. My point has nothing to do with being representative of gupshup, but as moderator of a religion forum you should moderate for all.
"Earthquake is punishment" does not stifle or ridicule someone else's religion (except maybe your own), but when the moderator says "You are going to hell because you don't follow my religion", it makes a mockery out of all posters who do not belong to his religion.
Moderator is suppose to "moderate" discussions NOT views, not cut down on his views or lose ability to express his views. "Non-Muslims will goto Hell" is not his personal opinion, it comes from Islamic rulings/verses/ahadith, it is NOT to "ridicule" or "mock" anyother religion, if you can't take it then too bad but he can't be forced to hide his views when asked/needed.
^ No it does not...Captain, please refrain from starting another discussion within this thread. Dont forget Allah is the final judge and lets leave it at that.
Of course it is personal opinion because as you just noted, there are enough Quranic references that say Allah is the final judge.
Secondly, if he feels compelled to share his view that non-Muslims will burn in hell, he shouldn’t be a moderator of a religious forum that has posters of many different faiths.
And thirdly, he initially offered his opinion in a thread openend by a non-Muslim to express respect for Islam and it wasn’t even a topic being discussed, just a reprimand to another non-Muslim to avoid hellfire by becoming a Muslim.
Since this is a hot topic nowadays in Pak, & Im here on vacation, Ive got all the free time to listen to all the stories that have been emanating close to my home town Peshawar. I have yet to meet Pakora, anyway...
This dude got a dream 2 days before the earthquake (in Balakot),2 white bearded men standing on a mountain. The 1st asked the 2nd, that we should slam the entire village with a mountain, but the 2nd replied, "No, lets just shake it". The kid survived to tell the tale.
Yes this was a wrath from Allah, & Pakistan is no stranger to this phenomenon...Moenjodaro, Gandhara, etc...several cities of the past, witness to total destruction sent by Allah. Sins were galore in that small town, & Allah does take away the good along with the bad.
Kaleem, I thought this was the best thread to tell others my tale. Its sad that even after witnessing a severe earthquakke, we still have these cable operators airing Pushto songs late at night which are very close to soft porn. May Allah have mercy on the remaining good souls left in Pak. There is just too much pollution, in every sense.
Mal1k, Allah knows best. If you think it was a punishment, and that's motivation for you to be a better person, then so be it. I can't understand why we muslims don't think more positively. We're such negative people. I know, I know, look who is talking. But still, this disaster should be an eye opener for everyone, and after this, theoretically, there should be "improvement" in all sorts of things.
When I arrived in Pak, the first thing that greeted me early in the morning was a 4.6 Richter earthquake.
No pcg this was in no way a motivation for me to be a better being, it has just instilled more fear inside me that one day Pakistan will face an even bigger test from the Almighty that everyone is so blind to see. As that thought creeps in my mind, it just makes me more fearful of Allah. Im not afraid of the earthquake or death, its Allah that Im really afraid of.
All I look around in my city is cell phones snatched(people even murdered if they dont hand it over), net cafes & DVD shops amock with plentiful supply of porn, drugs, alcohol, money laundering, gays, fraud, god damn every filth.
The disaster was not an eye opener, its just another "news", if u know what I mean, people are back to their routine of pollution & there is no stopping them. Theoretically yes there should be, but practically, this country doesnt stand a chance. There is a total meltdown of the current gen. Everything needs to be built from scratch.
Lets just pray that Pakistan wakes up from this slumber that it has fallen.
Mal1k, My friend the question remain as is... who's got the authority to define such an event as wrath? Indeed this event is a lesson for everyone… that God is the final authority.
Todd, nobody has, but everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. And you dont have to go far to define wrath's, we have the Holy QurAN, read & u'll definitely find answers.
