A moderator should not tell posters that they are going to hell or that they are not Muslim if they consider themsleves to be. When that type of narrow view comes from a moderator it is no longer a ‘religion’ forum, but a sunni fundamentalist forum. If that is what armughal and GS wants, they should change the name of the forum and not pretend they have an open religion forum that encourages free expression.

I disagree with Kaleem in that a moderator’s view like ‘the earthquake is punishment from Allah’ is an unfair comment from a moderator. While it may be ignorant, it does not promote intolerance to other views.

If you want to demean other views (like if yours is diffrent from mine so you will burn in hellfire) then be a regular poster. But if you want to be a credible and fair moderator, realize that other peoples’ views are just as relevant to them as yours is to you and don’t be so damn judgmental.

You kicking your own butt, you just disagreed with Kaleem that a moderator’s job is to ‘moderate’ the forum and he can have his own views, but when it comes down to a mod’s views AGAINST YOURS you think that he won’t be considered a moderator any more, wah wah, bravo.

I have disagreements with ARMughal on issues but I take them as his “personal” views, not “representative” of Gupshup. If “earthquake is a punishment” is his view/interpretation then why “non Muslims will goto hell” not be his own when he is using his same sources to back both views? If “non Muslims will goto Hell” is offensive to you then “Earthquake was punishment” is offensive to Kaleem, he is using same sources (I blv) for both views.

I think ARMughal is one fine moderator :k: no matter what his opinions are and I don’t think anybody should take a ‘Moderator`s’ views as representative of Gupshup.
