Imagine you were a worm who lives on an Island among other worms and very simple creatures.
One day you are travelling alone when a strange creature that has wings swoops down and lands next to you. ‘What are you’, you ask. ‘I am a bird’ it replies and in an instant picks you up and takes you into the air. You pass out.
Some time later you wake up and find yourself in front of an even stranger creature…
This creature is humungous. It has the ability to move quickly and seems to be very powerful. It picks you up and puts you in some sort of house (tank) that only something very powerful and all knowing could have built. Here you find the most amazing plants that you devour. This all knowing creature then gives you more food to eat, things like apples that you've never tasted before but are oh so yummy.
Days go by. You are happy but only wished you could communicate with this creature and thank it for its hospitality. One day a big spider is climbing up the tank. It intends to eat you and you know it. The creature is sitting nearby and sees it. Without any effort it crushes the spider. This creature is also very dangerous aswell as kind/
A few days pass by and you are visited by the bird again. You ask the bird about the creature. It tells you that it is called a human....and with that picks you up and takes you into the air. You pass out.
You wake up to find yourself back on your island and surrounded by your fellow worms.
They have been looking for you and were worried. They ask you where you had been. You tell them about the winged creature that took you into the air, the powerful being which had been so kind to you, you call human.
Do you think the other worms believe you? Do you think they could even fathom such creatures in thier imaginations? Up until that point they were the centre of their own universe.
Read this. This is what he is trying to get at. :-)

Shouldn't it be in philosophy forum? Not that it is too far off in here.
