My brother was into marrying a non-Muslim when he was younger, but one day, I passingly said to him that they don't do taharat, and you could see the wheels spinning in his head (he's a pro-lota guy if I ever saw one). From that day on, he kind of cooled down on his infatuation with goriyan.

Not washing down there after toilet is not the only thing, they don't remove their pubic/armpit hair or circumcise either.
I have a bidet at home and in public places I use a combination of damp and dry toilet tissue. Tried using a lota once at the Mosque toilets but it kept poking me on my.. must have been a plant watering thing.
Gorey ppl can be so icky sometimes. Did you know that they only bathed like once a year before they came across us Muslims and they learnt hygiene by observing us? Don't ebelive me then read their own history books, they stunk in the middle ages, the first thing Muslim people noticed about the crusaders was their vile stench.

^^ I agree with you to some extent. In the past those people did bathe only once a year or so, Roman Baths, in known for this tradition. That’s how the concept of Bath tub came up. They wud fill up the bath tubs with flower patels and all that stuff and soak themselves in that, once a year kinda celebration.
But these days, goras bathe frequently.
P.S. Ppl who are with goras: It’s not difficult to get them to use lotas or use of water to clean up. I knew some who did.

hmm.. well some of my closest friends are gora and ihad to live with them!So... some of them know what i use etc...and the general response is.... u must be clean!
as for them not using! well..... its thier issue! and mind you... some goras think its quite disgusting that we touch...u know what! when we clean.... so it really runs both ways! i like the chinese - japanese toilets! i went to this japanese cafe here - and the toilet talk to u! i am not kidding.... u tell it which language! it greets you! then u site down and then when u are ready u press the button for watering and set it so that it sprays your tush! there were three different options depending on i guess where you tush is!
then it blows air to dry you!! and u pick which kind of air! hot or cool or mild, and also the fan how fast or slow u want!!!
i am not kidding!! I am laughing as i type this! but very seriously there is this bathroom! and my friend took us there, and specially made all of us use the bathroom! they had one at a korean restrautn i went to as well!
O1 and hte water temperature can be set too!
i think thats the future! no lota and no tp!!! instead a talking toilet that speaks 4 languages! the damn toilet was smarter tehn some ppl i know!!!:D

It is only Indians who wash themselves without using any toilet tissue first.
Of course it is disgusting to touch your butt whilst washing it if you don't use any toilet tissue before hand, all Pakistanis I've come across use a combination of toilet tissue and water and then wash their hands afterwards.
Back home when I was touring the rural areas of Punjab and NWFP with my cousins I found out that some people there just relive themselves in a secluded area outside in some field, even there we were taught to use a clump of dry earth to clean ourselves before using water as not to filthy our hands, the lotas there are nice and ergonomical too, like they’re meant for the job instead of the pokey watering cans they use at my Mosque here.

I hope they don't greet you with Salaam/Shalom because taking God's name in places like that is blasphemy.
I like the idea of air to dry your butt, I have a bidet at home but I've not really heard of the dryer to go with it, seems like a brilliant invention.
