i don't understand these proud responses.
while there are many reasons why the home minister's statements may be toothless, the fear of a loss to pakistan in war is definitely not one of those reasons. we all know this.
whereas pakistan may be a virtual failed state/banana republic with not much left to lose, the indians have a lot to lose from entering into a conventional war that can be avoided...so i agree that indian politicians will only bark after pakistani terrorist attacks in india.
similarly, if indian terrorists snuck into pakistan and murdered thousands of people in karachi or islamabad in a terrorist attack, the only retaliation from pakistan would be inflicting hours of that dramatic foreign minister's phony accent on the indians through press conferences.

It took your army 24 years to separate East-Pakistan... when,
1) There was not any Land, Air and Sea connection west and east Pak.
2) Still it took you 17 days to get through the Pak-Army deployed in Eastern Wing
3) Pak-Army Fought both with your trained and funded terrorist ( hence India laying out foundation of cross border terrorism in Sub-Continent) with very less support from the western wing in terms of arms and ammunition.
4) There was very limited air and naval support for Pakistani Army in the eastern wing
5) Indian Regular Army, Backed by their Air-force and Navy were fighting a General Like Niazi
6) Even Combined army and resources of East and West Pakistan was 1/3 of Indian resources
And yes when all this added up, India managed to cut the eastern wing of Pakistan after a continuous effort of 24 years... India managed to beat its small and comparatively less equipped neighbor
What an Achievement by India...

It's probably a good time pass in India to make threats against Pakistan, it obviously pleases hard liners there and people like Chim bum use this stupid statements for political gains.
Otherwise there is no point of issuing statements, if you really have guts then just come and attack us otherwise STFU. It seems that Indians know there will be an attack, if you really are a responsible nation and are sincere about peace and friendship then share the information about possible attack and let us do all we can.
