Brother Ibn Sadique, Thank you so much.

i contemplated posting that Ayat in this thread; the sad part is, i thought people would just skim over it. That Ayat, i am sorry to say, does not hold much influence. It is a horrible thing to say. i could have posted that in any of the Culture threads as well, or in any of our numerous sect-bashing threads in this Forum, and people will choose to ignore it. It is a good ayat to use when we are showing off with nonMuslims about the equality within Islam, but when it comes to applying it in real life when we are standing face to face with a 'stinky' Bengali or a Muslim Indian, the Ayat takes on an abstract, impractical form. That's what i mean by cultural Islam.

Epicurean, Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

Perfume reached to everybody's hand now just like Islam and loosing its essence.

Its now who can afford not who really cherishes....

When someone doesn't stink inward is considered like a rose and at that time of point that person should smell like a rose thats the hypothetical point of perfume.

Perfumes has also its variety. Once we rach to the affording level, most of the commercial level induce nusea to someone who finds that person stinky... and the story goes on and on.....

And someone with that fortune rarely meets someone who stinks.

what "needs"?

armughal said: because when u say so u oppose Allah's Words that "You (i.e. muslims) r the best nation evolved for mankind

bhai, not every kalima sayer will fall under that category. Otherwise most in Pakistani jails or other places in the world committing crime but still say the kalima would be "best people". You have to read the whole verse. You are doing what others do but then you (and us) get offended when they talk about "kill disbelievers".

Seminole said: How is it that God created the perfect religion but after 1400 years its followers are still not able to grasp it? I thought the reason for the revelation to Muhammed was that man had failed in the first two attempts by God to get His message right.

1400 years of dust and ignorance brings you the confusion, don't you agree? They knew everything 1400 years ago, but we lost it. During these 1400 years, people's own personal desire became more overwhelming to God's words. BTW, this is not God's 3rd attempt.

What belief you follow? If you think you follow a false belief system, or worse system than others, wouldn't that be weird? Just curious.

Why must one believe that their religion is better or worse than another’s? This type of superiority or inferiority thinking is what brews hate and wars.

[/QUOTE]

No. What brews hate is to tell others in their face that they are worse. You can believe your belief/religion to be better/best.

Believing one is superior to others tends to reach a persons surface whether they know it or not.

A person does not become superior by believing in some faith/religion, IMO. So if anyone thinks/feels "superior" to others, its simply his arrogant part which is taking religious color and which is a condemned quality.

You shall not treat the people with arrogance, nor shall you roam the earth proudly. ALLAH (swt) does not like the arrogant showoffs. "Walk humbly and lower your voice - the ugliest voice is the donkey's voice." [31:18-19]

So mocking deviants is now showing off. talking about deviants
is arrognance. SO BE IT.

I can understand why you are SO UPSET.

rehman1: You claim to understand that Ayat more than anyone else? It is you that said "its interesting that you dont know the meaning of this ayat". Can YOU tell us what the Ayat means and how it is different than the translation given above?

Also, dont judge anyone's faith by calling them or referring to them as deviants. You are not in position to judge anyones faith. Consider that as a friendly advice.

As again its so interesting. Those people who quote Poets,
Bernard Shaw as part of religion, and than they mix it up
THE AYAT, THAT YOU RESPECTED MODERATOR JUST BROUGHT UP.
To me it doesn't make sense. Why do somebody want to mix thing
up. OK, so keep on doing it.
I guess its ok for the mods to bring up issues they want.
Is there an ETHICAL boundary for you.
