Okay so I’m new to it so need a bit thorough Information
I have thin hair, not really thin but fine over my crown.Hair color is dark brown, looks like almost black.
Some of my hair have started getting white…premature whitening I must say,but not too noticable.
For quite some time,I want to colour my hair to a shade of medium brown;not to cover up the white ones but fr a change.
so,
*Does coloring damages the hair?do they turn grey/white after the dye wears off?
*Did anyone experience hair fall after coloring?
*will they bleach my hair to give it a medium brown color?
*which is the best n least damaging hair color brand(M living in Pakistan)?
Many thanx in advance
From my experience, hair dye has dried out my hair. If you decide to color it, make sure you take care of it with color-treating shampoos and oiling your hair regularly. Generally, if you are going for a color that is significantly lighter than your natural shade, they will have to bleach it first. This does a lot more damage to your hair than just dye. But I have gone from my natural dark brown to medium brown without the need for a dye, so I think you should be ok. It's not a huge jump down the color palette.
I have thin hair and started getting greys in my mid 20's. I started coloring my hair a few years ago.
1) Coloring damages hair if you're not careful and don't take care of your properly. I have not noticed any extr damage to my hair since I started coloring it. The grey hairs, they will continue to grow grey and will remain grey once the color wears off. But coloring won't turn your brown hairs grey.
2) No, I have not experienced any extra hair fall since I started coloring.
3) Stay away from bleaching hair. This causes a lot of damage. BTW, I have colored my hair but have never bleached it (and never will).
4) I'm not in Pakistan so can't help with brand recs. there.
** Make sure you use a shampoo that's sulfate-free. These are gentle and will help the color last. Also avoid shampooing your hair daily (I wash my hair every 3rd day). The more often you shampoo, the faster the color fades. Oiling is great for hair but again, this will make the color fade faster. I oil my hair once every 2 weeks now.

how did you colour hair without bleaching it? Did you go a shade darker?
I also have grey hairs and although I did die my hair red once 4 years ago, I'm not big on doing it again because it did make my hair dry and brittle. I just use henna when i can to cover my grays.

I don't know enough about hair color to know how some colors can be done w/o bleach and other's can. I know they must bleach hair when making drastic changes (ie. if I wanted to be blonde). But when I started coloring my hair, I went to a salon for full highlights for several years. Usually got various shades of brown or dark red/burgundy highlights. And I know she never used any bleach type product.
A few months ago I started coloring my own hair at home and have been using Ion Demi color (from Sally's Beauty Supply). And yes, b/c of my lighter highlights....the color ended up being like a shade darker.
I did dry my hair out and made it quit brittle. I have naturally wavy/curly hair which is more prone to being dry and brittle anyway. I ended up growing out my hair and chopping it off and then re evaluating how to go about dyeing my hair.
So now I use only semi permanent hair colours every 6 weeks which are much much much gentler on my hair and I use a very expensive but absolutely fantastic shampoo from the company kerastase recommended by my hair dresser. This shampoo changed my life. I have gotten so many compliments on my hair since and its so protective. Its better than redken in my opinion.
If you have naturally hydrated straight sleek hair hair dye will probs damage your hair visibly less.
Remember like everyones skin/hair/body is different so what damaged my hair will not damage the next persons and vice versa.
I recommend a semi permanent dye and lots of hydrating nourishing treatments and heat protection for drying and straightening.
i recommend u 2 go for mehndi instead of using dyes.it vl not give result with one application bt applying it several tymz gives u ur required result.ur hairz r already thin so avoid chemicalz.every dye has hydrogen peroxide that light ur hair color bt damages ur hair as well.
Yes, I dye my grey (or as you said white) hair. I just do the shade my hair naturally is so I don't do the length of my hair. The scalp area is naturally oily so my hair didn't dry out. I would suggest just coloring your hair to hide the grey with your natural shade. My hair is fine and I would not suggest going for Henna. I have herad Revlon is a good brand for hair color in Pakistan.
