i just want to know to elongate the rakah not in nawafil but in fard prayer can we recite more than one surah, like if want to recite last 10 or more surah in one rakah, or more than 10..can we recite more surah in one rakah(in fard salah)?
also one more question, if we recite surah alaq in rakah so when sajda comes which is the end of the surah, so we go to sajda e tilawat directly and stand up again, do we have to recite the other surah or we can go and perform ruku after standing up from sajda e tilawat?
Microbian, Please provide a reference regarding recitation of multiple surahs not being allowed in one rakat. There is a minimum of 3 ayats required (from what i can remember) but I have never heard that you cannot recite two or more surahs in one rakat.
The minimum is to read three verses and long surahs to elongate rakat. I haven’t read where an example of reading multiple surahs in one rakat mentioned.
As TLK bhai said, in Sajda-e-tilawat (Surah Alaq), you may go to Sajda then stand up again and read any surah or three verse at least and then go to ruku. For an instance see below video which is not only explaining but it is an example of a very beautiful recitation.
