To blog or not to blog?

Re: To blog or not to blog?

Unique? Is there any movie or novel out there is entirely unique? I don’t think so. People just their put their own spin on already existing concepts or common experiences. In my opinion, and you’re welcome to disagree, trying hard to sound unique can some across as trying too hard and readers can sense it. It’s better to be natural, to write from the heart. I recently read a fiction book by an Indian author called The Abundance. It was basically the thoughts of a mother/wife who has terminal cancer. There is nothing novel about that experience. There are hundreds of people out there suffering that trial. It’s not a novel concept in literature. But the author put his own take on it. He expressed certain feelings and moments..in very simple words…but in a way that made me pause and think. And I’d read some of his lines twice and I wanted to write them down as quotes but I was too lazy to grab a pen and and paper, lol.

But it’s not even about trying hard to make your blog sound thought-provoking, or humorous. Just write from your heart, uninhibited. The most enjoyable writings to read are the ones that are simple and from the heart. And it could just be your thoughts about something seemingly inane. For example, if I were interested and motivated enough, I’d blog on entry about something simple like sneezing. Cuz at this moment in time, sneezing is the first topic that came to mind. I didn’t have to think too hard about it. I think it’s fun to sneeze. Seriously. Others may think that’s weird, but I’m being honest. I think it’s fun because there’s the superstition that a sneeze means that someone’s remembering you. And while I know in the back of my mind that it’s not logical and that it may be a gunnah even, but for a second it’s fun to have that wishful thought. And I end up looking at the time and wondering who at this hour could possibly be thinking of me if there were any truth to the superstition. Write from your heart. Write about things/feelings that come easily and naturally to you whether it’s about work, or your marriage, or some event, or something someone said or that you witnessed, or some musing about life and human nature. There are way too many fashion and makeup blogs out there. I say mix it up. A mix of light and deep. Unless you wanna narrow your blogs to one specific experience. Nevertheless, I wish you well.
