See, I think I’m just being crazy and insecure. On the one hand, I want it to be a public blog because I like that aspect of blogging (so it’s less like a journal) but I’m scared I’m going to be judged by people like “oh another blogger trying to get famous”. It’s dumb, I know.

Nah, dont worry about that. people can judge you even in regular posts so why care about them. Its your life and your choice so do as you feel like. Welcome to blogging!
