To be induced or not??? really worried

hi guys, really need ur advice about somethin. m 39w3d preg. my sugar was high on and off but have been controllin it since 2 days so it is within the normal or a bit high AH. now the prb is i have not been havin contractions and my due date is 9th may which is only 3 days away. my doc said she can wait for me to go into labour or have contractions naturally till 9th but after that she said she wud have to induce me. i m confused as to wot i shud do. shud i still wait beyond 9th to go into labour naturally or shud i b induced??? i will strt 40 weeks on 10th may. as far as my knowledge goes i can still wait a week before i have to b induced… that is when 41 weeks strt. wot do u all think? the doc did say that if my sugar dusnt get in control she mite even induce before 9th even! but thankfully i controlled. anyone here had induction and how long dus it take before i can deliver? i so dun want c section…

Most people say the contractions caused when induced feel worse. Why won't she wait until 41-42 weeks? That's pretty standard.

i guess cuz the sugar level is worrying

also.. its nto standard to wait beyond the 40 week mark in pakiland and arabia.. and i agree with it.. ive only heard horrible stories of women who went past the 41 week mark and their babies or delivery had complications... just becuz teh docs thought .. hey why not wait for nature to take its course

im one of those mommies and i had a horrible delivery at 41 weeks and 2 days... and my son was hospitlized for 10 days for drinking amnitoic fluidand getting a severe infection in the lungs which could have been prevented if they had induced me earlier.. a mistake they agreed on after the delivery.. too little too late :)

so mall.. dont worry... if they induce u on the 9th.. its great!

Its best to follow the advice of your doc. If she decides to induce, its to prevent possible severe complications.

Here in USA women get induced alllllll the time for one reason or another and have safe deliveries. If I were you I would follow my doctor's advice.

do follow the doctor but keep praying to Allah to make it a smooth delivery and pls do this.... I have women who swear by it.... read the first 5 ayahs of surah inshiqaq on water ...and keep drinking this water....induced or not inshAllah your baby will come out easily ..... and keep reciting 3rd kalma... may Allah help you and bless you with a healthy, happy baby.

mall, if your doc recommends that you be induced, that doesnt mean you'll end uphaving a c-section. Inducing just starts labor and keeps it going. It can get pretty hairy, the contractions can be more intense. But heck, I went thru induction twice and had only one half-dose of painkiller each time. It wasnt fun but it was do-able.

I second the surah inshiqaq advice... I read it alot in the 9th month n Alhumdolillah I had a really smooth delivery...

I went into labour naturally but my contractions weren't getting stronger... So I was induced...it was fine for me ...I guess mainly because I got an epidural... it didn't prolong the labour as they say... I was actually done quite quick once they put me on it...so I say, go for it... N keep surah inshiqaq on your lips throughout your labour...best of luck!

My case was almost the same as alishaht... labor started naturally, I asked for an epidural and was given one.... my water didn't break, they had to do it and the contractions weren't getting stronger so I was given Pitocin.

Don't be scared about being induced... every experience is different. What matters is the end result, that the baby and mother are fine. Follow your doctor's advice, you'll do great, inshaAllah. Good luck :)

thanks so mch guys i m deeply touched by ur responses. lil update i will b induced on 8th now instead cus hubs has taken leave frm sun-sat comin week so she will b inducin tomorrow.. i m scared, anxious... so mch more!! i will definitely read surah inshiqaq on water.. thanks guys. i have gestational diabetes acc. to my doc so thaz y she is inducing me. its normally high at nite and in breakfast and lunch its ok. partially i m to b blamed most of the times at dinner i dun eat rite thaz y i guess the sugar is high. i m xpectin my angel to enter the world by 8th or 9th max cus m goin in hospital early morning tomorrow.
guys wish me luck.... its my first baby. cant belive i used to post so mch and now I AM goin to have a baby. pls do pray for her health. IA will post again. :)
