Don’t you think it’s time to open a thread for the appreciation of Urdu poetry, especially of great ustaads?
Some of the Urdu poetry, for example poetry of Ghalib, is very dificult to understand. Some of you can explain to us wonderful ghazals of Ghalib. Others can pick verses of various past and present poets where Urdu language is used to its best in expressing human emotions, for example, using metaphors or similes or tricks of the language where mutiple interpretations are implied.
I keep this note brief on purpose. What do you think?
The entire Poetry forum is for this very purpose — appreciation of poetry. Any thread open for a piece of poetry and any comment made on it, is an act of appreciation. We do it day in and day out :)
You might have seen that we dedicate an entire month for a celebrated poet under the title of Poet Of The Month. We had several such dedications, complimenting poetry superstars and their masterpieces, and let me assure you that we will continue to further highlight great work of our great poets. As far as opening of a thread is concerned, as you have put it, you are most welcome to start such a thread. We will be right there.
