Exactly what essie said. Silicone & Sulphate free shampoo and conditioners should be used, as they both lock in moisture and are less harsh. You have to work with the integrity of your hair, not against it. By brushing, you’re going against your hair’s natural tendencies.

And yes, you have to find the products that work for you…be it a mousse, gel or creme. Keep experimenting. Once you find the right one that gives you the result you desire, stick with it.

What conditioner do you use? Sorry I’m on my phone now and haven’t checked out the thread you linked us to
