Hey, paindoo wasn’t there in the other thread!

FT, you sort of have a bleak view of life though I do like your pragmatism regarding this subject. I do wonder what kind of men you have met that makes you think that all men ‘fool around’ with women before marriage.

Let me touch on the marriage issue first. Will the wife live in Pakistan since US law really doesn’t allow a 2nd parallel marriage? I think the second wife can still go to the US embassy and cause havoc for her husband back home. I know mormons have multiple marriages but I guess they don’t declare it in the US law as such because then they could be arrested and prosecuted.

Muslims who practise it in the UK get round it by doing just the nikah so to non-Muslims she is the ‘mistress’, prob the same happens in the US..

Tends to lead to a lot of problems eg. the guy could leave the wife and claim they were ‘never married’ or if he is in a serious accident or dies the second/third/wife obviously have very little in the way of rights to see him or make any decisions in regards to his care or treatment.. Similarly, some couples will do just a nikah and pretend ‘common law husband and wife’ means something when in legal terms here in the UK there is actually no such thing..
