To all the style divas... i need some help!

plzz post answers for my questions???i must order my outfit??how long should the cut in front of shirt??on which stuff should i order??n under slit should there any other small shirt??

Mall, the bain is at the back of the neck it's not exactly the name of a gala =) and if u wear longer kameez'es that will make u appear short! The slits look really nice try one in cotton or linen u'll get the idea.

Re: To all the style divas… i need some help!

This is an example of a ‘ban’ gala. Most sherwanis have that neckline.

This is also an example but has a slit in the neckline. Some people feel too congested in traditional ban necklines and opt for a slit. Both styles look great.

Hope this helps.

I was wondering if anyone of you can tell me how much the "poncha" of a pants type "capri" with slit should be - bootcut. My mum had some made and I feel the poncha is too big .. Help plz .. Its long capris though .. Not short once as the photos here

PS. I think the poncha is abt 7-8 inches uff

Make the capris so that you can comfortably sit on the floor with you legs crossed and not feel like you'd rip your pants. That's a classic fit test..!

Hi! I had asked in another thread about sizing for capris but didnt receive any answer..YourPresident, maybe you can help me! I want to get an outfit made from Pakistan with capri, how do i send my measurements for it, so the darzi makes it with a good fit (ie so it neither rips when I sit down nor does it look all loose and baggy). I want a nice slim fit like how it is in the first picture of the green and purple suit, ending about 3-4 inches below my knees. Thanks!

ooooh, i want! these are beautiful!

The best thing to do is measure 'all' parts of your body. Not just the usual.
Measure:
-Neck
-shoulders
-above the chest
-the chest
-below the chest
-the waist
-over your belly button - the widest part
-hips
-capris's length
-thighs and
calves - measure them while sitting on the floor. When they are at their widest
-sleeves - the length and around the biceps (depending on the length of your sleeves)
-length of the shirt length-wise and then measure how wide you want it across at the bottom

You should send all your measurements to ensure a mistake (if made) wasn't on your part..

If you're going with boot-leg pants, the width of the pants will depend on your height. Trust me, tailors in Pakistan know exactly how wide to make the painchaz depending on the measurements you send them.

Of course, if you're going with boot-leg pants, the shirt should be short.

Very important = Make sure you ask the tailor to keep an inch or so of fabric inside the clothes. That way, if you need to tighten or loosen you clothes later, they can be easily done.
Hope this helps.

gina was sayin i shud not go with a long shrt with capris.. but i thot long shirts makes one thinner and appear longer?? :S i am tall myself but fat from the upper back area(near the bra straps.. alot of flesh there).. so what do u think abt this? I m planning for the capris length to be somewhat like the one this model is wearing

but then .. the same qs.. the paincha here is v small, almost fitting her leg… how much is not too much.. i mean i dun wanna make it look like a bell bottom paincha u know!

thanks but the ban gala would look really bad on me.. it will emphasise my thick neck.. ive tried wearing a collar on my gala (with no opening or whatever) and i looked really bad…

The pictures Your Pres posted are pics of "band gala's" a "bain" is simply at the back of the neck and u can have any gala in the front of the shirt..i'd pair it with a "deep U-gala" and leave it front open..

Why don’t you buy some capris that fit you and send them as measurement?
If you’re already tall you might not need a long shirt to create the illusion you’re tall.

Re: To all the style divas… i need some help!

Try some of these galas. They might look better on your neck.

so sorry yar.. call me dumb, but i still dun get what is a bain at the back of gala. i understood ur band gala (in english CLOSED rite) can u post any pic that can show what is a bain????

i m 5’6

nice yar… i esp like the 2nd and last one… abt the last one I wanna ask u… it dusnt look like an exact gala but the way it goes and its shape.. its kinda unique.. is there any name of this type :S
will it b okay if inside I have a white lining in the black shirt (like the girl has pink cloth inside to cover her chest in the last pic)… i think i will stick to the black and white theme for now… black kameez, white dupatta & shalwar

That sounds good. No, there isn't a name for it. Maybe you can print the picture and send it to the darzi with your naap.

The length of the kameez is to play down the "heaviness" of u're upper-body and elongate u're midriff.. that gala that u like has a "bain" at the back and that is what I am talking about..it's almost like a collar but just at the back of the kameez. And the gala does have a name, it's called "reversed tear-drop shape"

How do you send that in a message to a desi darzi?
Hahaha..
