As you all know that I’m here only on a termporary basis. Most of you already know me from other fora on gupshup by now so no need for me to babble on where I stand on different beliefs and issues.
I don’t want to make the atmosphere here on Religion forum an imposed and uptight one, and I need your help for that.
I recently interacted with wowyi and Najoomi and learned about Ismaili sect and New Age movement. My personal faith (whatever it is) remains unchanged but I did find the material to be very informative. I think a lot of our members here feel the same way.
I believe that all of our members are highly educated people, and they use their own respective logics to reason and beliefs in what they believe in and I find it extremely valuable and encouraging. However, friction exists in every aspect of life and religion is probably the first most place for it.
I have noticed a few words being used around here quite often to address other members and I want to confer with you guys on them. One such particular word is Kafir.
To my pleasant surprise, most of the members did not care much about the word. I have personally been called Kaffir quite few times by now, and frankly, I kinda like it now. I mean, look at this way: If I would to count how many times I have been called bastard, I would have at least couple of dozens of fathers (hey, even if I do, does that make me less of a human?) So this word Kafir has sort of become a title of tolerance and humanity for me, indicating that I could control myself… It indicates that I could control myself to believe in what I still believe in despite all the opposition. That makes my belief stronger and stronger as it shows me how I did not degrade myself based on my very own belief. Isn’t that great or what (I just patted myself on the back)!
So when somebody told me that I am going to hell, I took the joy out of it and had fun with my fellow guppoos (queer, they better have hoors there man, or you are in trouble
) I mean, if it was left on humans to tell you if you are going to heaven or hell, you won’t need a God, right?
The point is, I can take any insult and it makes me stronger and stronger but I do understand that’s not the case with everybody which is absolutely normal and understandable.
Many may view words like Kaffir to be offensive and expect me to snip it. Frankly, if I were to snip every single objectionable word, I would have to quit my job and sit here for 24/7, and considering that Azkar is already lagging on his promise of granting me the Merce Benz for the job, I don’t want to take the risk. So there are going to be things that may bother you and seem like an overlook on my part, but I want to assure you that for most of you, I have a trust in you. I have a trust in you to understand where I’m coming from. So I’m not going to snip some of the words. Kaffir is one of them. If you feel offended by this word or any other particular words that you see being used often and not being snipped, please let me know by either sending me an e-mail or in this thread and I will make sure that you won’t be addressed that way.
Trust me, it’s not me who is moderating this forum,it’s you (am I sounding like a politician now?) - I just have put my trust in you (that’s such a &^&^% politically correct statement ;)), and we’ll share the hoors in the end
… And let’s make this place for learning and fun (ok this statement is so boring, tell me really how many times have you heard it before?)… let’s joke a little as well while we talk about religion.. a little humor never hurts, and guys you are &^%^& good at it too ![]()
