They are so hard to maintain these days .. no matter what relationship it is , with parents , with kids, with relatives , with friends, with colleagues etc… Many of us are found unhappy specifically with our relatives and some with parents … these are the relationships which from a religious point of view we cant let go … so from your experience so far , what are the tips to manage these relationships in a better way ?

I think Gifting is one of the reasons why relationships become so difficult … I have had better relationships with friends who i dont gift much , but generally am there for them and care for them .. Expectations remain low that way and none of the two parties feels compelled to do the kharcha on the other …

This is the first time i m hearing this. As far as i know giving gifts increases your love, so yeah. Don’t buy expensive stuff & its not about kharcha, this is the way you show your care to the other party.
