Re: Tips of clearing the fridge!!!

Take everything out of the fridge. Throw away undesirables.

Wipe out any junk. Take out shelves / drawers and wash.

Spray inside fridge with bleach water / cleaner spray. Wipe off.

Replace shelves / drawers.

Replace only good food.

Result - well stocked lovely clean fridge.

How To Clean A Fridge (Lifestyle & Home: Kitchen Cleaning)

Not really related to "cleaning" the fridge but I always keep a tiny open box of Arm & Hammer baking soda in the fridge. It absorbs all the food smell & your fridge will never stink. Also make sure that you replace the baking soda box every month.

Re: Tips of clearing the fridge!!!

^ now baking soda boxes come with a date window where you can write the date when u opened it so you know when to replace it.

Re: Tips of clearing the fridge!!!

An alternative for the baking soda is half a lemon. I just place half a lemon in the fridge and it will catch any unpleasant smells and will start to shrivel up when it needs replacing :)

Re: Tips of clearing the fridge!!!

on a side note, never place half cut onion in your fridge without wrapping it in a plastic wrap.

Re: Tips of clearing the fridge!!!

If you use containers with air tight lids and self sealing bags for storing things in your fridge , it will never give that desi fridge smell and will never need detail cleaning.

thanku ppl…im loving the tips

I get one of those but never write the date. Lazy me I guess.

^:cb: me too. So I got the one with the indicator.

Re: Tips of clearing the fridge!!!

not a cleaning tip but couple of tips on how to avoid too much mess in fridge

Always use appropriate section to store right stuff. for example dont put fresh veggies in plastic bag on top section (I have seen this in many refrigerators at desi places). Vegitable/Fruit trays are in there for some reason.

Try avoiding putting "daigchees" in the fridge. Always use storage containers with proper lids. This saves from spills and smells.

and finally, NO you can not store cooked food in the fridge for your 4th generation to come. So keep throwing out the stuff on as needed basis. Dont leave it up to cleaning day.

:omg:
