I am not sure what tips to give but if the person is interested in historical sites, places to visit are

badshahi masjid
shahi qila
noor jehan ka maqbara (i think thats whos burried there)
meenar-e-pakistan
mazar-e-iqbal

Go to fortress for shopping, liberty, purana anarkali...hmm
so u really dont care to visit food street?

Make sure if you're buying something, you have to haggle for the prices, and preferably let a local relative or friend do it for you. So remember, haggle with a passion, that's part of the fun vacationing in Pakistan.
