I am in need of the tips on how to make and deliver Presentations in a Masters level course. Your help will be appreciated ![]()
Gosh, I give presentations in my MBA classes all the time. Some general rules of thumb: do Powerpoint slides when needed, prepare handouts, talk intelligently WITHOUT using index cards!, make eye contact with classmates and professor, and use hand gestures whenever appropriate. Most importantly, remain confident and know that for the amount of time you're in front of the class doing the presentation, YOU are the expert on the subject matter/ topic of discussion. The spotlight is yours for that 1/2 hour or hr., so take advantage and make it your most shining moment.
Go get 'em, tiger!

avoid death by powerpoint
the powerpoint should not be the presentation, but should facilitate the presentation. give people hand outs before hand, the powerpoint slides should be used as an additional tool while you are speaking.
know your material... ther eis nothing boring than someone with 50 powerpoint slides with tons of text in each slide that the guy simply reads.
other aspects..have an agenda..have a time limit for each segment of the presentations, tell people how the questions will go i.e. question about something direct could be during the presentation, others could be at the end of each segment, some at the end of presentation, and some could be moved to a follow up later category.
keep it interactive but not so much that it becomes a dialogue or a question and answer session.
