I’ve been thinking about it quite for a while but didn’t get a chance to work on it. I’ve personally hardly had lapses in communication or problems in orders so far Alhamdulillah until last couple of weeks where I experienced some hiccups and felt the need to have a platform to help myself and others in this regard.
let’s put up points and ideas here and I’ll compile a sticky thread based on this thread soon IA
Re: Tips and guidelines for buyers and sellers to place a smooth online order of outf
Designers: before committing to making replicas, let the customers know how close they can make it....a sample of kaam be always provided before commitments from either sides, to avoid any unsavory situations later!

Desigers: Don't send out clothes until you have received payment
Customers: Don't expect full and heavy kaam when you've paid a fraction of the price of an original. Respect the time zones and working times of the designers

Always let the designers know how flexible are you regarding the colour of the dress because screen resolution of all laptops/phone screens are different. on. a colour perceived in a particular tone to you might be different to the designer.
Post a colour swatch if you are expecting an exact shade for heavy formals/bridals if really particular about it.
I prefer asking for multiple pictures from google images for additional ideas

Same goes about informing the designer about flexibility on a replica since no design can be 100% replicated as the original. sometimes there's a cut or embroidery pattern or a part of the original dress that appeals you the most. Communicate it clearly before finalizing so the designer can explain if that part can be taken care of on priority or not.

For the fabric, please please be clear about chiffon or even silk chiffon to an extent gets caught in kaam. People demand flowy and slimming fabric which is undoubtedly chiffon but it gets ruined sometimes over a single wear esp at the sleeves/underarm areas. Please dont blame the designer on that, choose charmeuse or raw silks to avoid this issue.

For lawns, if there is any huge difference between the color of the suit shown in photos and in real life–I can accept a slight variation in shade and for the most part the colors are true to what you see, but every year there’s at least 1 disappointment amongst the bunch

designer dresses rip off with kaam too. try going to a designer stop. the point is you'd hardly go back to big shot designers with complains. their assistants will shuuu you off, stop attending the calls and you'll leave a bad review in 2-3 forums and will move on. this hardly makes any difference for their repute.
Re: Tips and guidelines for buyers and sellers to place a smooth online order of outf
The threads of some fabrics are going to get caught and pulled by kaam, designer or not! I can buy an expensive western dress in chiffon and if I wear the wrong type of bracelets (for example) I can expect the fabric to suffer. It's not a fabric issue.
I thought dabka and crystals in metal settings were the main cause so when I made one dress with different kinds of sequins, I thought I'd be safe. But this time it turned out the sleeves fabric was getting caught by these tiny flower sequins instead. You can't win! About the only kaam that is safe is just threadwork and round beads.
