So if you're talking about a single point, then it should be:
You didn't make** a **good point.
Plural: You didn't make any good points.

Never been corrected for such thing in my academic life. Stylistically speaking, the sentences you've used as examples are quite simple, better off without having a full stop in the middle and starting new a sentence with 'however' or 'therefore'.
Re: tips about English language
the rule muqawee stated and many many similar ones exist in the english "scholars" of the subcontinent. outdated elsewhere for practicality.
Re: tips about English language
elsewhere or amreeka only?
Wrong pronunciation is not just accent based, but many times how people break a word into syllables. Indianapolis is often pronounced In-di-a-na-po-lis by desis, when the right pronunciation is In-di-an-ap-o-lis.
Not helpful in the above example, but the rule of thumb is that count the number of vowels in a word, subtract the silent vowels (e at the end of a word as in line, like, bike), and count two vowels coming together as one (aa in aargh, ou in mouth, ee in seen, ea in mean e.g.). The number your are left with will be equal to the number of syllables in that word.
There is no rule that says you must use an before a vowel, only before a word that begins with a vowel sound.University begins with a vowel but not a vowel sound, so it's always a university.

If however is used in the meaning of “no matter how” then can be used to start a sentence with.
If it’s used in the meaning of nevertheless or but, then should not be used in the beginning.
A lot of people are not careful about the use of "his/her". Example, ali was talking to her wife.
Ali is a guy so the word you are looking for is "his".
His wife
Her husband
Say, we are referring to husband's sister. It is still "his" sister even though the girl is a she. The reference to the sister is being made through "her" brother so it's important to use the appropriate gender term.
