Re: Timing the contractions ..
1- What is this breathing technique that everyone keeps talking about? any specific youtube videos that you guys think will be helpful ?
**
i found this on youtube and was very helpful… Breathing and Relaxation Techniques During Childbirth - YouTube
i practiced few weeks before my due date…and there were videos of classes too on youtube…they were very helpful…
the key is concentrate on your breathing and dont think much about contractions and pains…
like others said i also forgot about these techniques after 6cm but nurses were there to remind me....**.:D
2- Best way to time the contractions? actually you guys need to tell me all that you know about contractions .. from the last thread I know now how it can possibly feel when the contractions begin .. but usually how long before delivery can these start? and when they do start how far apart are they ?
** i had my 39weeks appointment on 39weeks 5days…i dont remember why…anyways my doctor checked me and i was 1cm dilated and contractions were there but i wasnt feeling them at all…next day i was very active cooking cleaning walking…as i knew that i’m going to go in active labor soon…
at nite around 1 am i started to feel contractions but pain was bearable so i let my husband sleep and we went to hospital at 7am…
i was shocked to see that i was 2cm dilated only with so much pain n tummy contracting…
we came home and we started to time them…
just note the time when the contraction is over and start again…like if i got contractions at 1:00 pm it got over at 1:01 pm…n then started again at 1:15 pm… so they are fifteen minutes apart
slowly slowy they will get closer when time passes…like 10minutes apart then 5minutes apart…
that is the time when you should call the nurse when they are 5minutes apart…
i called at that exact time reached hospital got myself checked i was 6cm n got admitted to delivery room…**
Like, can they start two weeks before? and maybe have several hours gap between each ? then they slowly start getting more frequent and painful? is that how it works?
its different for everyone…it can take a week too
3- Oh and most importantly : what do husbands do during the delivery phase? other then acting all dizzy and fainting etc .. are there any tips I need to give husband .. I want him equally prepared , coz in this case he actually thinks birthing is a piece of cake :emmy: So I want to let him know before hand what is expected of him while I pop the baby out :hinna: all tips are welcome
**oh my husband was veryyyyyyyy helpful!!! Alhumdulillah!!!
he was such a great support i still thank him for his great bravery he has shown lol
luckily my L&D were on weekend so my husband was free!!! he was continuously rubbing my back at home and at hospital…n telling me that i can do it while i was pushing…
i showed him videos of real childbirth on youtube…normal delivery,c-section,epidural all of them so he had clear idea that what was going to happen…
Alhumdulillah he was there for me throughout!**
