This was originally made in Sindhi as ‘Rani ji Kahani’. Its one of the classics. kiyun nahin bunte aise drame? because of commercialism and recipe formulas. People can link ti issue based dramas after decades, but today’s dramas are just like tissue paper.
Also watch ‘Jungle’ and ‘Choti si duniya’. If you liked Deewaren, you will love them too.

No Doubt we don't have such kind of darama's now a days but May be its due to some politics as I think these darama's were made in 80's ? I watched a clip about English Competition between Jano German and an educated person which was hilarious. I think it was Choti Si Dunya and actors were almost same like deewarain.

Where are those writers ?
The writer of 'Choti si Duniya' and 'Deewaren' is same person. Abdul Qadir Junejo. He stopped writing for TV long time back. His last project was probably 'ThoRi si Khushi, ThoRda gham' which was not upto mark of his other projects like 'SeeRhiyaN', 'Karwaan', 'Dukh Sukh' and 'Ghar GaliyaN aur Raaste'. He used to write columns for Sindhi Newspaper and was employed at Sindh University. I think he is not well nowadays due to paralysis. Junejo belongs to a small village of Thar.

ok here's the story...
Munir Niazi sahab mere ghar se 4th ghar me rehte thay, jahan ab Nasir Khan Niazi, jo unka bhaanja hai wo rehaish pazeer hai, yahan pe Munir Niazi aur unki family rehti thi, parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters..
Zameer Niazi
Munir Niazi
Touqeer Niazi
Zameer was well educated and govt employee, Munir didn't do anything Except once he Started A Business Of Printing Press in Sahiwal.. And Touqeer Niazi was a Truck driver...
They were financially good until everyone got married and had children.. Munir Sahib went to Lahore to his cousins house and then moved to a flat/apartment.. Later on he bought his own house.. He had no child.. And with the passage of time his abilities to write got faded.. His financial problems started and yes he faced a crucial time in his old age... However he lived a great life, I have an interesting story to share, once he was in lahore studio, his brother Touqeer Niazi went to studio drunk and started abusing them all at the studio gate...
Guard told this all to Munir, He took him in a room and gave him yogurt to eat.. And then tea..
Munir Sahib was embarrassed and wrote some beautiful lines:-
"Kaise Kaise Log Hamare Jee Ko Jalane Aajate Hain
Apne Apne Gham Ke Fasane Hamein Sunane Aajate Hain
In Se Alag Me Reh Nahi Sakta Is Bedard Zamanay Main
Meri Ye Majburi Mujhko Yaad Dilane Aajate Hain"...
