regardless of his political leanings I have listened to a few of Jalib's poems and I love em, the love for the country's situation during his period can be felt.
Jalib had no political leaning. He was a blank cheque which couldn't be encashed by any government.
He wrote 'Dastoor ko main nahin manta' against Ayub Khan and later wrote 'LaRkana Chalo ya Thane chalo' against ZAB. Wrote 'Zulmat ko zia kiya likhna' against Zia. Wrote in favor of Benazir 'Nehati LaRki', but when she couldn't deliver he wrote 'Paon nange hain be-naziron ke'. On death bed he refused 5 lakh rupe brought to him by Ch Shuja'at on orders of Nawaz Sharif, but he rejected that offer and wrote:
Hukmarano ???
Na Jaan Dedo Na Dil Dedo
Bas Apni Aik Mil Dedo
Aor Jo Kya Hai Tumne Qoum Ka Ziya
Uska bas Tum Bill Dedo
