TIME

Time is said to be eternal. Some have it and some don’t. We can even measure time as years, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds. The entire universe moves on according to a time pattern. A child is born, grows into boyhood, adolescence, youth, middle age and old age according to age and time. Every movement of creation is linked with time. Everything is fixed to a time-frame.

**But how does time works? Do you think that time is constant? Is time really as simple as a movement from one second to the next?

Looking forward to some interesting replies

Re: TIME

Time is constant? I am not sure about that. It varies from frame of reference to frame of reference.

Direction of arrow of time is always constant though and points to the forward direction.

Re: TIME

I am talking about time as whole not as a frame of reference.

Re: TIME

Time is a dimension, the 4th dimension in our space time continuum. Just like we can go up and down, left and right, we are moving in time dimension also at the rate of 1 sec/sec. Only difference is that this motion is only in one direction and involuntary.

Re: TIME

Newton says time is like an arrow, always move in one direction.

Einstin says time is like a river, sometimes it may be at earth and next moment at some other planet with different speed.

Re: TIME

REligion says that nothing is eternal, not even gods , so in that theory time gotta "die" sometimes.

but i am 50 - 50. time may be moving forward or it just doesnt exist ( which would be considered as time is constant). may be there is nothing called time, we stay in the same frame, nothing happens after this and nothings exists from what has happened before.

Re: TIME

Time is a sense of motion like the one that we get when our train starts moving and we are looking outside the window.

Re: TIME

Time is also the count of motion/movement of heavenly bodies such as earth and moon.

Re: TIME

No, they help us measure the time, they dont define the time.

Re: TIME

:( I thought Time changes with the change of day and night and day and night come when heavenly bodies move.

:(

Re: TIME

Your comment reminded me of the joke when this villager who owned the only rooster in the village got angry at everyone and left the village with his rooster claiming that 'na hamara murgha azaan de gaa aur na subah ho gi'

Re: TIME

time measures growth/activity of living things, it also measures circumstances, but there is too much time for some ppl and lil time for others,
maybe their measure of growth/activity is replaced by other factors of life such as intelligence , their activity may also be restricted to a certain level

when everything ends their time stops

TIME

Is time eternal though? Will we have the same concept in the next life? I somehow doubt it.

Re: TIME

time is unique advancement , it both gives and takes away elements,

no it will not be the same in next life

Re: TIME

The only time that you live is the present. The rest is just a unit of measurement.
