time....

a hadith, some wud argue is dhaeef…
Do not vilify time for time is God
(Musnad-e-Ahmed bin Hanbal, V, 299 and 311)

talking of the same hadith, iqbal writes…
Indeed, some of the greatest Muslim Sufis believed in the mystic properties of the word Dahr. According to Muhyuddin Ibn al-Arabi, Dahr is one of the beautiful names of God, and Razi tells us in his commentary on the Quran that some of the Muslim saints had taught him to repeat the word Dahr.

time possesses strange qualities that intrigues me…
it has no beginning and no end…
if one wud think of anything prior to its begining, he wud be left in an atmosphere of nothingness…
and same goes for beyond the end of time…
its eternal in a way…
it encompasses all that we know of…
physical or abstract, nothing is independent of it…
and it depends on nothing…
it is unwary of all…
moves on and none can stop it…
it kills and it heals…

shelly writes:
Unfathomable Sea! whose waves are years,
Ocean of Time, whose waters of deep woe
Are brackish with the salt of human tears!
Thou shoreless flood, which in thy ebb and flow
Claspest the limits of mortality!.

even Quran mentions people attributing god’s powers to time…

Quran 45:24
And they say: There is naught but our life of the world; we die and we live, and naught destroyeth us save time; when they have no knowledge whatsoever of (all) that; they do but guess.

A lot of religions have same musings on time...Should move it to religion..
