Time Travel

The idea has always fascinated me since I was a little girl. Don’t know if any of you find it as striking. I won’t copy & past a bunch of articles here, because it simply doesn’t catch one’s attention. However, I insist you visit this website.

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/time/index.html

I don’t care if this has been discussed before, but I believe the more you examine it, the better you understand it.

So tell me, what do you think of traveling through time? Is it ever going to be possible? I know if you travel fast enough through space, you can actually travel into the future, but how does one go back into the past? Could the answer be black hokes, time-warp, parallel universe, or the space worms?

… You tell me.

Re: Time Travel

hmm, one cannot but resist the temptation to at least in addition to this thread refer you to previous discussions as well :D

Re: Time Travel

^ or to the forthcoming ones

Re: Time Travel

According to the relativity theory, time travel is possible but then you will loose our physical form as well. You can't travel time and not age .. if you didn't as the mathematics proves, you are not physical.

And there are people who think soul doesn't exist?

Re: Time Travel

^ say what again! I completely missed your point.

nescio  Since you are the smart one here, enlighten me! And it shouldn’t matter how many times this has been discussed, or should it? .. hmmm :ahaa:

** Atlanta** :hoonh: chamchay..!

Re: Time Travel

Err time travel is easy. To go a minute into the future, just sit around for a minute and do nothing. You will be 1 minute in the future in exactly 1 minute.

Re: Time Travel

^ lol… :biggthumb: I like that.

Re: Time Travel

Just click your heels three times and repeat after me Dorothy

"there is no place like home"

Re: Time Travel

I don't much care about Time Travel. I do however care about living a healthy happy life in this timeline. I'd prefer Science use its resources to cure diaseses, poverty and Aging (yes Aging) so we all can live long and happy lives.

Re: Time Travel

The truth is out there...

And you are in here

Re: Time Travel

Are you implying we all need to get out more often? :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Time Travel

lol. :biggthumb: Take me home!

Luxiryitem – You are taking the discussion to another level. Not that it’s a bad thing, but it doesn’t make sense when you compare the topic with world hunger and things like that. :konfused: Besides, science isn’t wasting it’s resources MUCH on the subject. so chill out!

Code_Red – I tried to astral project! :bummer:

cHeeGum – hehehe What he means is that we can’t get an answer unless we go out in space. In a way, I was questioning human intelligence, which can’t be found in outerspace.

Re: Time Travel

the most interesting notion i heard about time travel is, that perhaps it is possible in future!

All the people saying they saw a ghost, perhaps in fact saw a time-traveller. But because the technique isn’t perfect you only see a silhouet instead of the whole person

:rotato:

Re: Time Travel

^ That's a good way to look at it. I actually never thought about ghosts in that sense even though I have done a great deal of research on the topic. I will look into it more. hmm!

Re: Time Travel

hmmm, suppose time travel is possible…in future we could solve the problem of too few prisons by sending sentenced prisoners back into time. So just like previously Britons were exiled to Australia, now instead of space we will exile prisoners in time

:rotato:

Re: Time Travel

^ Wasn’t that in a movie? :hehe: I saw a movie like that --throwing sentenced prisoners out in space jail. I don’t remember the name of the movie but it was one of those sci-fi movies. Well, if we did have the technology to go back in time or travel into th future, we won’t even have such problems. We could very well foreshadow the prisoners’ future, hence changing their mind about committing crimes. :hehe: … Just like Mr. Scrooge in Christmas Carol! :smokin2:
