Saarc as an organisation has been a total failure particularly due to the relationship of Pakistan and India. During the past three decades there are very few achievements to the credit of this organisation, as a result many countries are signing bilateral agreements or tilting more towards china. Has the time come to bury Saarc as the regional organisation?
Re: Time to bury Saarc
Indeed, there is a better co-operation in many levels between members of SAARC.
Re: Time to bury Saarc
SAARC is a dead org mainly b/c o India. India is a regional bully that want to dominate the smaller countries & Pakistan refuses to let them bully it. Btw, China has shown interest in joining the org, but India has blocked it fearing it could lose its influence in South.

Chinese clout is already growing in Nepal, Srilanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Doesn't matter if India likes it or not.

True, Pakistan has been pushing China to join org mainly to diverse Indian influence in south asia region. But regardless, India can never match China mainly b/c China will have number one economy by end of next year & they have lots of cash. China is building ports and roads all around the the region, unlike India.
